Skatin' Fools Skatin' Fools So about 4 months (Sept '00) ago I decided I wanted to learn how to skateboard. I have always been a closet skater but just never took it up. I followed Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero (who still skates the Milpitas park weekly) and others back in the 80's while in High School. However I never took up Skating. Well I decided to learn at age 29 and it has been a lot tougher than had I started when I was 9, but screw it... I love learning and trying new stuff. This has been an awesome challenge and it is a helluva workout too!
The first place I skated was the Milpitas Vans Skatepark. This place is bad ass.. over 60,000 square feet of fun! Anyhow here are some pics of me and some of the guys that I have met there and now skate with regularly. Fortunately most of em are Paramedics so I always know that help is just a scream away.. hehe...

Wow... well .. what can I say.. it has been 8 months now that I have been skatin.. and I LOVE IT!!! I can't explain it.. it is an awesome feeling. Thanks to all you guys that have helped me! (Mike, Rich, Tony, Josh, Gary and all the little kids who have endured my endless questions on how to ollie... I still have to master that). Man I love seeing the look on people's faces at the skate parks when I tell em that I started to skate at 29... he he.... this is the BEST sport ever! We've checked out Ripon skate park in Ripon, CA and it just plain rocks! This is such a dynamic sport.... Just get out there and have fun! Check out all the other California Skate Parks here.

Just came back from Switzerland and Great Brittain. Ok ok.. so I just scanned the pics in (10/21/01) Found a few skate spots there and really enjoyed it. All the skaters were very friendly.

As you can see I finally added in the UK and Switzerland pics. Damn ollies still have me swearing, I will get it down soon. Been working on airs lately. I'm starting to transition to street skating more.. just seems more fun to me... plus the opportunity for broken bones is so much higher.. :)
