1988 BMW 535is For Sale

I am selling my beloved 1988 535is. The car was bought from the original owner in 1998 and I have only put 50k miles on it in the last 5 years. It has lots of extras and mods and has been my daily driver with no problems at all. The car is TIGHT and solid. No rust or damage, EVER! Paint is original, shines and looks awesome. Never hit and no dents or dings! It has always been garaged and has never been abused. The car is located in the San Jose, CA area. I have all records from 1991 till now. All work performed at Dinan Engineering in Mt. View and at Motorspeed West in Santa Clara. My mechanics are always impressed at how well the car drives and how tight it feels depsite the fact that it has 193k miles. And if you know BMW 6 cylinder engines, you kno they can go 250-300 thousand miles easily. Lots of life left in this peppy motor! Transmission is a 5 speed. Compression on all 6 cylinders is strong and even. Great torque and power, pulls strong and hard. Mostly commute miles. Car runs great and needs nothing at this point. Inspection 2 done less than 4k miles ago. Smogged less than 2 weeks ago with flying colors and registered 'till June 2004. Very reliable, has NEVER stranded me or failed to start. The only reason I am selling it is the fact that I want to buy an E36 M3 Sedan.

General/Interior:

Cardinal Red Leather Interior. 12 way power sport front seats (driver's side does have a tear on left bolster as can be seen in this pic). Both front seats have some wrinkles and cracks. Rest of interior is excellent with minimal wear. Headliner, dash, carpet, rear deck and door panels are pefect. Rear seats were hardly ever sat in. Front spoiler does have some paint chips and a scrape on the bottom edge, just usual wear. Windows have light tint in front and darker tint in back (but not limo dark). Black plush floor mats front and rear. Power sunroof. A/C pumps cold. Power windows, mirrors and sunroof. Backdated center dash vent (allows vent to be opened). Momo shift knob. Everything works!! All body part numbers match.

Suspension/Wheels:

16" BBS RZ wheels (same as E28 M5) with 225/50/16 Yokohama AVS Intermediate tires. Rear inner fenders professionally trimed by Dinan Engineering. This was done to prevent fender rubbing in the rear. Spare is original TRX wheel/tire.

Dinan Stage 3 suspension kit consisting of:

• Dinan sport lowering springs
• Dinan adjustable sway bars (25mm front and 19mm rear)
• Dinan front camber plates (tires wear evenly, no funny wear)
• Dinan valved Bilstein struts and shocks
• BMP Adjustable strut bar
• Dinan 4 wheel sport alignment
• Great firm ride, but not harsh. Excellent handling car!

Engine/Drivetrain/Brakes:

• Dinan Performance chip (stock chip will be included)
• BMP K&N Hi Flow Sport intake (stock unit will be included)
• B&B TriFlo Performance cat back exhaust (nice mellow sound along with intake)
• Rebuilt driveshaft
• 3.73 LSD rear end
• Red Line oil always used in engine and rear diff
• Autosolutions short shift kit
• E34 M5 disc brakes and calipers at all 4 corners. Brembo rear rotors. See pic above for massive rotor size!
• Stainless Steel Braided Brake lines at all 4 corners

Stereo:

• Sony XRC 550 AM/FM cassette deck flip down face radio with CD Changer control and wired remote control
• Sony CDX 705 10 disc CD Changer mounted in trunk under parcel shelf.
• Infinity Kappa Mids (professionaly installed in door panels) and Tweets (in stock tweeter location)
• Infinity crossovers mounted in stock front speaker locations
• Boston Acoustics plates mounted in stock rear speaker location
• Boston 10" subwoofer mounted behind rear seats (does not take up any trunk space)
• Alpine V12 4/3/2 channel amp
• Great sound, has enough bass to bring the music alive, but not thumpy

• European BMW factory fire extinguisher mounted under driver's seat
